Dear colleagues
We are proud to announce the 10th NeuroSpine Meeting, the advanced course of the Swiss Society of Neurosurgery SSNS, which is supported by the Swiss Federation of Clinical Neuro-Societies SFCNS. Due to the ongoing uncertainty regarding the COVID pandemic, the SSNS board has decided to hold the meeting virtually on June 10, 2021.
In a joint session with AO Spine, the upcoming meeting will cover tuberculous spondylitis (Pott’s disease) which has gained considerable importance due to migration from Africa to Europe and other Western countries. Thereafter, we will focus on the surgery of cervical pathologies including myelopathy and the decision making between fusion and arthroplasty. In the afternoon there will be a technical excursion into sensor-based robotic spine surgery, spinal navigation and their impact on future safety concepts. Finally, the focus will be drawn to the interplay between surgical and pharmacological therapy of osteoporosis and the impact of innovative drug combinations on everyday clinical practice.
The attractive program should catch the attention of neurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons with a strong interest in spine surgery, but also anesthesiologists, neurologists, rheumatologists, interventional radiologists, chiropractors, physiotherapists and osteopaths.
We look forward to an interesting virtual meeting!
Sincerely yours,
Professor Adrian Merlo, MD
